A morning at Russian Hospital

Our Sunday morning: It was such a pride esp. for me as the day’s team leader from SI Cambodia to have gathered almost 30 people from our group to participate in Initiatives for Change Association’s food project, called Student's Hearts: Student Make Changes in Society. Some of us have been hosting Japanese delegates from the Japanese Goodwill Mission program, and it was also wonderful to have six Japanese friends join us as well. Among them was our one and only, Ta-ke, the participant of Japanese Goodwill Mission program from last year, who has now officially become either a Japanese spy to SI Cambodia or a forever Japanese friend of ours.

In addition to these outstanding young ones (and some old ones), SI Cambodia also sponsored fruits as ICA was only providing foods. We gathered at 9AM, packed the fruits, then waited for the food prepared by ICA to arrive. When the food arrived, we ate them all.... Just kidding.... When the food arrived, we placed them into their rightful buckets (plates, bowls, etc), and worked in a group of three to bring food to patients, room by room. There were 3 patients in each room and we distributed food to a total of 150 patients affected by HIV/AIDs and Tuberculosis.

The project ended at around 11AM. Everyone thanked everyone else and... it was a non surprising phenomenon that everyone squeezed for pictures at the end of the event.

9AM Smiling faces.. not knowing we were waiting at the wrong entrance. Sorry guys.

Found it funny
Picture time. Quick, quick, it's hot!.... Aaaah, wait, wait, wait, for me, me, me. Ah Susu look so cute here, but what's w/ the hair-lock with Ta-ke.. :D
SIC, picture time!

Int'l Youth Day, 12 August

This year's celebration marks the 8th year of our celebration and declaration of 12 Aug as Int'l Youth Day. I've been invoved with the day since 2001; however, have skipped it for a few years heheheh. Every year, CPYs have to give a performance of the Youth song. This year, presided over by HE Kol Pheng, Minister of Education, organized by Youth Dept and represented by Reps from various Depts of MOEYS, Reps from JICA, UNICEF, UNFPA, Equal Access, SI Cambodia, and participated by Participants of SSEAYP 07, SI Cambodia members (former CPYs), Youth Scout, Students and teachers from Phnom Penh and Kandal province, and others, the day marked another year of the recognition of the voice of the youths, their potentials, their issues, and the supports they need.

The youths are at the age of great significance for the development of the self, family and nation. As a youth, you should be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem. You should contribute to developing yourself and others. The spirit of social development and social contribution should be upheld. During his quite friendly and informal speech, Minister of Education reminded the youths not to fall into the trap of intoxicants, gambling and lust. He also stressed that we should take controls of our own lives and not wait for destiny to decide our paths.

For me, though I have to wake up very early and arrive around 6AM, it was an amazing day to be able to have such a big reunion with my beloved former CPYs, the always-fun-to-be-with group - the One in Love.

Friendship, like the immortality of the soul, is too good to be believed. When friendships are real, they are not glass threads or frost work, but the solidest things we know. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Save The Last Dance For Me - The Best (By Eugene)

Eugene's "The Best" has been my favorite song for over three years. Plus, this is a very sweet drama. Enjoy.

*You are the best thing in my life
Always by my side, you are there dreaming your happy dreams
I was worried that if I opened my eyes, that it would be merely a dream
Because its a love that I felt for the first time

Since I was young, I was alone
And I hated your pitiful glance towards me
When I felt my scars through my dried tears
I felt like I grew so much

Accidentally, the moment that I passed you by
Love came into my heart

You are the best thing in my life
The reason why the world is so beautiful
Is because you are here to protect me
I will pray that it will be a dream where you will be here forever
Because its such a beautiful love. ..till forever..

When you left me for a short while,
I tried to forget you as I grieved in my sadness
I always had the thought of meeting you again
So I grieved for a long time

The day when I first held your warm hand
The sweet kiss embraced my soul

Repeat *

I hid away such painful scars
But I don’t even have tears any longer
You showed me the way
Even if the world is at its end, I will love you

You are the best thing in my life

I will pray that it will be a dream where you will be here forever
Because I waited so long for this love.. till forever
